Design is solving problems, creating problems, solving problems again, discovering new
ones, trying again and again and returning – hopefully a little wiser – to the original
problem.

An illustrated report about the endometriosis diagnosis.
Imagine being ill and nobody believes you. For many chronically ill people, especially those with symptoms invisible to others, experiences like this stack up. This is my account of the diagnostic process for endometriosis - a gynaecological condition in which uterine-like cells grow outside the womb. Between emotional and factual, I’m telling in text and illustrations what endometriosis is, what the process, the diagnosis and the aftermath feel like – whilst also considering the aspect of the burden
of proof. I want to raise awareness, bring more transparency to the process and encourage people who suspect they themselves might have endometriosis to get a diagnosis in order to get the care they deserve.
