Interactive application accompanying the process of fermenting/ pickling.

Fermenting and pickling. Ways of preparing food that are kind of forgotten. Back from times of grandparents and great-grandparents. During my internship I started trying out different ways of pickling vegetables. It was easier than I thought, the main problem were usually the huge walls of text, bei t website or book. They looked complicated, especially because i never tried it before.

That’s why I gamified that topic in my bachelor‘s project. Interactions and visualized steps guide through the process, recipes that were tried can be saved and rated.

This way of preserving food might be an old art, but in with food waste and food prices at an all time high I think it’s very important for alternatives to be both as visible and as accessible as possible.
