Hi, my name is Max and motion design is my passion. Consistently and aesthetically designed animations are my way of breaking down complex topics to their core and visualising ideas.
Space for (almost) everyone
A multimedia documentary about defensive architecture.
Benches with armrests, stones under bridges, spikes on walls. Many people don't even recognise what makes this architecture so special when they pass by. For this very reason, it was important to me to raise awareness of this topic with my film. In my multimedia documentary, I deal with so-called ‘defensive architecture’ or ‘hostile design’. Measures that are intended prevent undesirable behaviour, but in doing so contribute significantly to pushing marginalised groups such as homeless people into invisibility. Why do cities make use of such architecture? And why are homeless people dependent on public space in the first place? Are there not enough emergency shelters? These are questions that I try to shed light on in my film. In order to gain a differentiated picture of the topic, I also talked to various aid organisations and urban planners in the run-up to my research. Technically, my film is a mixture of real film footage, 2D animations in After Effects and 3D animations in Blender.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
