I find nothing more fascinating than the human being with all its depths – especially my own. Creativity for me, above all, means honesty with myself. When it starts to hurt, I know I’m on the right path.
Faux
Shortfilm; roominstallation
A good friend once told me: "Somehow, you often talk about life like it's a film. You romanticize even the worst things." That hurt, but it made me think. I suddenly found myself repeatedly painting uncomfortable realities in a pretty way, just so I wouldn't have to face them. That's how I came up with the idea for my project: 'Faux' consists of a film and a space in which it takes place. The film contains a collection of scenes in which the protagonist creates an aesthetic world in the style of the '60s, where the seemingly predictable cinematic clichés of that era repeatedly break down. I want to let the desire for romantic harmony collide with the unpredictable reality of life, and ask the question: Can one ever escape the truth?
